Our Alexa switched over to some Early Access updates. I was so creeped out about it, they are making the computer's voice sound like a legit human being and it was talking to us like a human, very personable. The way it was conversating was legit creepy. I shut that **** down

I have to say, I know that the purple ring on an alexa means something bad (that the network is down), but it is undeniably beautiful. I'm almost sad to see it go.

Alexa is down, probably related to Cloudflare being down.
Which is why I'm going to start ripping out as much "smart home" stuff as possible this winter.
Making houses dependent on the Internet was a dumb idea.

Is AWS still having problems? The Alexa commands are not working now, and last time I tried (I said please), and it worked. This time I changed my tone 😆. The TV only works with voice commands for the on and off button only, for some reason lol.

Anyone I talk to IRL doesn't even know there was a major internet outage this week. I definitely felt it with the Alexa outage that killed routines and Everywhere music for two days. Seems to all be ok again today.
