Was just watching a tv show. Thought I recognized a location as a spot I had visited once. I paused it, took a pic of the TV with my phone, uploaded that image to Google Lens and it instantly identified the skyline of… a place I’ve never been. A very futuristic let down!

I’ve been fascinated by geo-tagged photos for almost as long as geotagged photos exist. We used to upload photos on Panoramio when they didn’t come geotagged straight from phone, we would manually add coordinates to them. Unfortunately, Google bought Panoramio and shut it down.
