Let's face it. AWS can feel like it has mastered the art of delivering complex and unhelpful error messages. So, we implemented an automated flow that detects and informs users if something goes wrong during the ECS service deployment. The flow chart:

I am getting rather tired of Azure's constant failures and random errors. We keep having a 'Backend call failure' with a standard SKU static site. I am seriously considering switching to AWS. At least there I don't have to deal with consistent random errors from the infra.

Anyone else noticed any issues connecting to certain AWS hosted services since last night on @virginmedia? For example FlightRadar24 site loads but no planes display. It seems to use this data feed hosted on AWS and times out after hitting the first VM core hop.

Few months back my AWS instance was shut down because of a bug from my end. I solved the issue but I was not able to find a solution to get notified instantly when my instance stops working. How do handle this @mayank_408 @AlgoOriginals @pythontrader999 ?

Update: The AWS outage has been resolved. You should now be able to use your Hatch app and connect to your device.  Your device should reconnect automatically, but if you’re still having trouble, a quick power cycle will help.

After having worked with AWS for awhile to deploy my spring boot applications, it was a bit of a challenge deploying on Google Cloud Platform at first but after a lot of trial and error getting there

Whoever gave AWS the idea to add this resource map, deserves some extra rewards. I remember asking my boss once after trying to debug an issue with AWS for hours why we didn't have resource maps. He said they might be tools but he didn't know of any.

Annoying when you see infrastructure you built, but no longer work on goes down. Looks like a simple issue, the underlying CIIM API endpoint is down on the AWS server cluster.

Alexa outage means some AWS outage I guess.

So @googlecloud #CloudRun stopped deploying all weekend, and just magically started working again. No outages or incidents reported. @awscloud looks more enticing every day.

Had major issues with @awscloud Elastic Beanstalk, but after working with @AWSSupport, I know WHY. CAUSE: Some platform scripts MUST be encoded as UTF-8. Plaintext is US-ASCII RESOLUTION: Add an emoji to the file. # Emoji forces UTF-8 encoding 🤦‍♂️

I did a major update to the Rails on AWS book, fixed font issues in Adobe Reader, and added a clickable table of contents (thank you, Louis, for your suggestion!).

Disappointed with @Volkswagon ID.4 Pro AWS 2023. Leased in January 2024, 1800 miles. Battery issue, had to be towed to the dealer. No update on repair other than you are on an indefinite waiting list for a part. Not the reliability I expected #Volkswagen #ElectricCars

Those of you with personal AWS accounts from a decade ago, you know how maybe you had like $5/mo in charges that you didn't think was worth your time to track down and delete? Maybe an EBS volume charge for some stopped EC2s? That has added up to $600 over all these years. 😞

Got back to work to find you've got some AWS alerts? I use a python script like this to very quickly scan cloudwatch logs to find lines with ERROR in them and print to the terminal. In practice I modify this script to set a time range and also loop over related log streams
