Attention, Amtrak Service is shut down due to a Locomotive on fire off of Welton Street in Hamden. Waiting on Amtrak Officials who gave a 40 minute ETA to disconnect other cars and shut down power to the involved locomotive.

I sat down on my chair to relax. Then the Amtrak train almost instantly blew it's horn. Amtrak is back! A weird car alarm went off minutes later.

.@Amtrak says its still "experiencing intermittent technical difficulties" due to AWS outage. Including--Call center & station staff unable to update existing reservations or process payments. Riders currently unable to book reservations online or the app

Was excited to take the next-gen @Amtrak Acela this morning. Trip so far: 1. Left 10 minutes late 2. Fancy 5G WiFi not working in car 5, but somehow everywhere else 3. Currently not moving and powered off just north of Philadelphia… Not bullish for the future of train travel

update, metrolink canceled the train due to mechanical problems and Amtrak canceled their train because one of their trains broke down near Laguna Niguel so tons of people stranded at the beach

Meanwhile, my nephew got stuck in the desert last week traveling Amtrak from Chicago to LA. No electricity, so no AC, toilets not working, took 6 hours to get a new engine. It's 3rd world level train service tho they might be better than this...

Turns out we’re late because the train broke down. Can’t blame Amtrak for this one or Maybe an Amtrak engineer snuck onto the Train and sabotaged it.
