Google fiber giving me more updates about power outages than Duke Energy

Every time it storm recently we have outages @DukeEnergy. Y’all plan on updating these power grids or lines or is this just our new normal

As part of Duke Energy’s ongoing enhancements to the electrical grid in the area, their crews are planning a power outage beginning 11:59 pm June 2 to 3 am June 3 for the downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods. Affected homes and businesses have been notified by Duke.

The electricity was out for 26 and 1/2 hours. I'm impressed that @DukeEnergy got my power back on already. West of Charlotte had a tornado. The problem in my area was the strong winds that caused trees and limbs falling.

Some waking up without power. Our assignment editor Anders reached out to @DukeEnergy and this is what they said: "[Multiple power outages are] basically all due to winds impacting vegetation (tree branches and/or trees) which pull lines down. @wcnc

🍃It was really windy around 2:30. My wind speed meter says it hit at least 21 mph. Trees were whipping around, and as a result, there are power outages around Charlotte right now, and more are probably on the way. Over 1500 outages right now. @DukeEnergy
