Overall on 6 May 2024 we received report mainly from Grand Island
AT&T, Verizon, and US Cellular experienced varying outages throughout the country yesterday evening. At the peak of the service interruptions, around 24 states were reporting issues with cell service on these networks, to include FirstNet systems.
Hmmโฆwhat would cause AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular and Consumer Cellular to ALL have outages?
So far this new app isn't bad. Allowing for "offline" random background speed tests to verify coverage. UScellular ain't going to do well here.
Don't choose @UScellular unless you want @UScellularCares to lie to your face and pay for an unusable service due to outages!!

Earlier my US cellular phone was on SOS even though it almost always works and I had a full connection to the wifi. This evening, canโt make a call with T-mobile (also max wifi connection). Instead of ringing it just ends the call. And Iโve powered down the devices.๐ต

AT&T was NOT the only carrier affected by this supposed "solar flare" - users of Verizon, T-Mobile, Cricket and UScellular also reported disruptions, though the outage with the services was much smaller than AT&T, according to Downdetector. Verizon and T-Mobile tweeted that the outage had not affected their own customers except when attempting to reach customers of another carrier.
