Thanks to @EPCOR for finding why my power was cut, explaining the issue and providing a solution all in one call. It can be frustrating when you have to call a utilities company and it's nice when things go better than expected.

As of 9:39 a.m., there were no outages reported in the city, according to EPCOR’s online map. The same map showed communities near the northern and boundaries of the city as well as southeast Edmonton had been affected.
