It's a technical issue, i experienced the same but it was resolved immediately after i complained to support team at {metamask.assist.desk.team@gmail.com} write to them, they will fix it

It's an error from the app, it can cause you loosing your tokens. Write to their Official email support for assistance at {metamask.assist.desk.team@gmail.com} They'll rectify it immediately

I had same issues with my wallet accounts but I got it fixed when support asked me to drop my wallet address which I did and it was rectified immediately. This is their live email. (Metamask.walletcomplain@gmail.com)
