Let me tell you how smart the people working at the IRS are, they complain often that they can't connect to some of their servers. When checked the servers are turned off. when they need to log in remotely they choose shut down instead of log out and then complain later.

Called the IRS Practitioner Hotline this morning & got a callback 45 minutes later. Unfortunately, the rep said the system is down & no taxpayer account info can be accessed. System could be down for hours. Have to try again later today or tomorrow. Why is this happening so close
