Is Wordpress.com down? ❌

1/3 An upgrade to Wordpress 6.7 bricked my blog with a 500 server error. It took a while to track down the issue. WP 6.7 takes advantage of PHP 8.3, whereas my installation of WP 6.6 was using PHP 8.2.

My opinion is that WordPress devs don't need an alternative CMS. Rather folks should build more non-CMS sites My old client told me to just take down the WordPress site I built after her event finished. Instead we agreed on making it static (no CMS) and hosting on a CDN for free

People will confuse WordPress with ANY hosting company. And plugin. If your site goes down, due to the host, a plugin, anything, it's just "WordPress" that broke. That's all they know. "WordPress" broke and now they have one less reason to like using "WordPress".
