D1: Shuttle buses have been requested to operate from Drexel Hill Junction to Orange Street stations in both directions for the remainder of the service day due to a down tree near Springfield Road. Expect delays.

My thoughts on the SEPTA court rulings: Service cuts being cancelled is good. But SEPTA still doesn’t have new funding yet. This just kicks the can down the road and doesn’t help erase their fiscal deficit. SEPTA needs to be funded long term NOW!

SEPTA, the transit authority for Philadelphia, has an annual structural deficit of $200M+. Ridership is down to 800K (once upon a time it was 2M). Because they’ve run out of Federal piggy banks to raid, they will cut routes and raise prices. So 800K will become 700, 600…0.
