Is PlayStation Network down? ❌

The more I’ve talked about this with others the more I’ve realized that the PSN account decision for Helldivers IS an extremely bad decision, but I hate that this has to be said. Please, give criticism without tearing the hardworking devs down.

You Need a psn to play any game anyway so this isn't a big deal if you have no internet or psn you can't play games

Ok, let's be transparent here guys if the region lock problem was solved, would you still be dropping the game over the psn account requirements?

I personally don't have a problem with making a PSN account to play a PlayStation game online, but let's be real, this is being done to make PSN look better to investors by artificially inflating the user count.

Helldivers 2 is available in 200 countries on Steam. PSN is only available in 70 countries See the problem?

You could make a PSN account with barebone information and NEVER USE IT AGAIN. So I'm still confused on what the issue is at all.

actually kind of ****** up that helldivers 2 all of a sudden now requires you to have a PSN account to even ******* play it now. literally happening after months of huge player counts and insane praise from everyone, just for them to **** all over that success.

You had to do the same for SOT on PC so why problem now and Sony not gonna 180 this i can promise u this and good. PC crowd Knew since day 1 PSN linking was coming it was on the PAGE

i own helldivers 2 but have yet to play it. why exactly is this an issue? idfk i play on pc, ps and xbox so i do not care about required psn

First genuine Helldivers L IMO. I don't want to make a ****** PSN account to play funny bug game.

Why was Helldivers 2 being sold on Steam in countries that can’t even use PSN? That’s my question. You can also get into trouble with Sony’s TOS just for trying to find a workaround via VPN. This whole thing seems like a terrible idea.

Maybe think about it for a few seconds da before posting? PSN isn't available everywhere that Steam is. People in the Phillipines are left out to dry, they are forced to stop playing a game they bought and had NO ISSUES WITH playing beforehand. This move is 100% for userdata

There's a lot of issues actually, PSN is not available worldwide, people generally don't want to have to use multiple different services just to play the game they bought and it's just an awful direction for these types of practices

sony didnt patch the exploits in their system and shut LBP3 down instead of fixing them, erasing a decade and a half of community. now sony is requiring PSN accounts on their hugely successful game and no others on pc. the game ran perfectly without it before this. **** them LOL

not really seeing the issue everyone is having with helldivers 2 needing a psn account i’m surprised they didn’t do it when the game came out every other game like sea of thieves for example you need some kind of account for said game

A surprising number of people are calling this a “small thing” when it really isn’t? PSN is not available in very many countries when it comes down to it. Now anyone that bought the game and was able to play it just fine is no longer able to if they’re outside of psn countries.

The amount of people refunding the game over this... guys making a PSN account is FREE. Aside from the countries that cant (which i do understand their frustration) like what is the frickin issue if u live in like say America or Europe? Its a FREE account u can make in 5 mins...

I will say on the off chance someone got banned for breaching tos they're ******. Since the account is linked.

If you have issues with the psn requirements for HD2 (it’s been on the steam page since day one and is free to do) just unfollow me because you’re being toxic as **** and I don’t want that around me

I know the steam page had already listed the PSN requirement but it's funny they doing this now that Ghost of Tsushima will add an overlay with PSN features and now they saying it was a "technical bug" as the reason for the lack of PSN requirement on release.

The whole PSN drama is only a problem if you pirate every game you own, looks at PC gamers.

My issue is that this was never made clear 'in-game' at launch. You had the OPTION to link it, which I did because I already have a PSN. This gives the *appearance* of a bait and switch. A good compromise would be to disallow all x-play if you don't link a PSN.

I play this on my PS5 so this doesn't affect me. For the people I play with who go through Steam, a part of me thinks 'Sure, easy fix, just create a PSN account,' but they shouldn't have to. I also call bullshit on the DEV's reasoning. It's all really money based.

Even though this won’t affect me since I do have a PSN. There’s a huge issue with players who are from other countries who play this game but PSN isn’t available there… it also makes me wonder do players on Steam have to get PS+ to play Helldivers?

Okay, there are only two issues I have with the recent Helldivers 2 PSN news. 1. They are making it mandatory and forcing it. 2. They sold the game in regions without PSN, along with regions where people can't create a PSN account or use a VPN without trouble. Sony screwed up.

That not the problem, the game didn't require to make a PSN account, but now they ask PC player to make one, for MS account it was since day one

Why were you able to play the game without a PSN account prior to this? I don't care if it was because of server issues, save for crossplay, it was working just fine. They should reverse this decision, especially since in some countries, PSN isn't even a thing.

Don’t get why people are furious at this when it takes 2 minutes to make a PSN account, is that really enough for people to drop a game they’ve been playing for months?
