wait this helldivers thing is a non issue???? it made me sign into my psn why i installed it???

@mrpyo1 I understand if your from a country that can't make a PSN account that def is something sonys gotta fix, but like the other 90% tho? My guess is this will go away in a couple weeks and people will just accept it and move on🤷‍♂️. Multiple other publishers have done this before.

Sony are slowly making the game industry an awful place, both for consumers and developers alike. I have a PSN account already, but that's not the issue. I'm not gonna request a refund since the devs have earned that money, but...****, man.

so pc players have a problem with signing up for a psn account but will gladly sign up for a Microsoft, gmail, netflix, disney plus, nintendo and any other website or game? like ...when a new mmo comes out, sometimes you need to that. ive never seen backlash on that lol.

I feel like they let me play the game for 3 months without having a PSN while it was "compulsory" to have a PSN acct. Without one, game ran fine and had no issues. This is purely a publishers damand, and the helldivers devs have the power to say no.

I don’t play Helldivers, but all the people complaining are just being stupid. It was a bug that made it optional, and now that it’s fixed people are whining and saying steam should let them refund? Just get a PSN account and move on with your day.

Literally takes two seconds. Also it told you on the steam page before you bought it that it needed a PSN login. The reason it wasn’t enforced was because of the server issues. Giant ******* baby

Anyone confused, this is the issue here. I was allowed to skip this process despite. I was aware this was temporary. If it was that crucial and important to Sony that I link my PSN they would have made sure this feature worked properly and not disabled it.

I believe a perfect compromise would be to just limit psn account connections to accounts that partake in cross play. That makes sense. If you don’t link to PSN, you play in the steam network.

Most people would probably create an account to do crossplay tho. Is people really going to stop playing the game because you need a PSN

Before, and after. Sony just snuck in this change on their PS support page. Originally, games didn't require PSN linking on PC. Now, "some PlayStation games may require you to link an account to PSN." So it looks they're "just" going to double down on this.

You know what's the real problem with Helldivers 2 and the PSN requirements ? Something I never thought I'd ever say since I've been a console gamer all my life. PC players have standards. Sony fanboys just consume happily without questioning ****.

To play @helldivers2 you now need to sign up for PSN even if you are on Steam. And if you are in a country where PSN is not available to you? Tough luck. This is wrong Sony @PlayStation Cancel your PSN+!

The Helldivers 2 thing, looking from afar, is such a seemingly unforced error. Not realizing that because PSN wasn’t required, players in countries without PSN signed up for it. Then doubling down now that players are complaining.

Was a good game but the Devs are like out of reality. They need to fix a lot of performance and bugs issues. Th PSN account stuff is kind of bad too. Well I guess is time just stop playing. Stop making new warbonds and start fixing the game.

So, it seems the Steam page always had the "link PSN account" information, but it was never enforced due to launch issues. Was this ever stated in dev posts or somewhere in game that they'd re-enable it in the future? I'm curious as I never saw it.

The whole uproar with Helldivers 2 and PSN is rough. I for once do not want to create an account on a service that has such weaknesses in their database security or a PSN account, period. But the issue here is that, even when they had you register on day 1 before... (1/4)

Was kinda confused why people freaked about PSN then found out its not avaliable in certain countries. That's just scummy on PSNs part. And you wonder why I don't Playstation anymore on top of needing to buy two of each console to play all games released for it, they have issues.

Griefing and abuse are such an un-moderateable problem, you're requiring a PSN tether to play the game, just to use Sony's mod team? I don't believe you. Get your own mods. This is dumb. PSN isn't even available in all countries.

The major problem is psn is not available in certain countries, while steam is so if you try linking your accounts, Sony will ban you.

This new design to get players to make a PSN account JUST to play a PC game is honestly beyond idiocy. Helldivers 2 is one of the best games I have played in years, and now it's going down the drain because Sony can't **** off for once. I hate corperate greed. 🙃🍪

I’m lucky enough to have a PSN account already and live in the states but this is the equivalent of running hurdles, getting off to an amazing start, and then tripping and eating **** on the first hurdle.

some people cant make a psn account because its region locked this means that many gamers are locked out of a game they have paid 40$ for allowing people to purchase a game & then removing access to it is a big issue & should not be tolerated

I want to remind everyone the issue is not "i have to link to PSN" thats stupid issue is Game sold where PSN is NOT a THING, players would risk breaking ToS otherwise. Therefore "loss of access is the issue" should have been day 1 or not at all

Sony should double down and make their single player games on PC require PSN too to limit pirating 😂
