Late addition to the Maui #hitraffic list: @HawaiianTel will be working in Maalaea from 8 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 possibly into the evening of Sunday, Jan. 4 to address an outage in the area. Expect single lane closure on Honoapiilani Hwy north of Maalaea Rd heading to Wailuku.

Is it a coincidence that on the same day a @HawaiianTel truck is working near my home, my phone line goes down? For some strange reason, internet is still working.

Two lessons here - When fiber is cut, there is no degraded service. Your internet service is down. As a reminder, our internet is connected by two pair of fiber to the mainland Cash. No internet, no debit/credit card transactions Hawaiian Telcom crews work to restore service

I get to my shop today and nothing is working- phone is off even though bills are paid. Credit card machine connected to phone not working. Cell phone can’t call 1-800 numbers? I call AT&T they can’t fix it. I call Hawaiian Telcom about my land line - been on hold for an hour
